Maybe in all this they will find out why they and their whole generation is so messed up, but probably not. At least they’re reading. In the game Animal Crossing New Horizons, you build yourself a home on an island, collect resources, catch fish, befriend your animal neighbors, and spend ridiculous amounts of free time crafting items. So Island of the Blue Dolphins is basically the story of that game in a real world setting. Karana does all these things and more, logging 18 years of play time as she survives alone on the island that is her ancestral home as she waits to be picked up to be reunited with her people. Andy, Harold, and Josh are here to talk about it as we wonder just what abalone tastes like?
