Andy, Harold, and Josh are three grown-ass men looking back on the books that were either popular or taught in school in the days of their youth in the ’90s, offering their totally grown-up opinions and analysis of the lessons they learned from them then and how those lessons hit now. Maybe in all this they will find out why they and their whole generation is so messed up, but probably not. At least they’re reading. (Warning: Contains language and behavior not suitable for children. Listener discretion is advised.)

Episode 39: The Giving Tree
Tuesday Feb 01, 2022
Tuesday Feb 01, 2022
We're taking a between-chapter intermission with a mini-episode on a children's storybook. The Giving Tree is "one of the most divisive books in children's literature", and its message is as wide open to interpretation as to whatever the expression on Shel Silverstein's face is in his photo on the back of the book.

Episode 36: My Teacher Fried My Brains
Tuesday Jan 11, 2022
Tuesday Jan 11, 2022
Happy new year! Our first episode in '22 is the follow-up to My Teacher is an Alien (which we covered in Ep. 22), in which Duncan Dougal discovers there's another teacher at school who is an alien. We pay tribute to Sidney Poitier and Betty White and try not to compare Steve Irwin to Adolf Hitler. Andy has Covid, Josh is cold, and Harold still thinks an unlikely character is a secret alien.

Twelve-year-old Jamie recounts the horrible events of last Summer, when ginormous bats attacked Bay City. And you can tell it's Bay City because he says it's Bay City...and that's about it. Harold isn't here to suffer through this with us this week, but we do have our very first guest host and fellow Bay Cityan Janelle Allison to fill in.
